ROO process – Qualify for Preferential rates IMPORT EXPORT 1) Certificate of Origin (COO) 1) Export Entry Original Doc Verified By Customs Administration 2) COO authorized by Customs Admin. 2) Relevant Documentation BOL (shipping), Commercial & Freight Invoice & other 3) Relevant Documents 3) Import Entry

Process of providing monthly statistics to Bureau of Statistics
Customs & Statistics collaboration Statistical reports generated from PC Trade Customs Statistics 1) CUSPCK system 1) PC Trade system Automated Monthly data obtained from NZ CUSPCK data into PC Trade 2) Local/Internal Database system (Access,Excel) Manual Forms recorded into PC Trade Manual Forms recorded

Challenges in compilation of trade statistics.
Customs Automated System (CUSPCK) Lack of users that are still using the Manual processes Infrastructure to remote areas Encouraging users towards the Automated system Captures Imports , Pax Movement & Craft Only NZ system – IT capabilities to run reports and add system functions. Manual Process: Requires improvement to capture data efficiently Customs/Stats officers are mostly data entering No proper data analysis conducted Customs have a lot of internal data systems (Access, Excel) Integrity of Data More strain on Audit officer(1) Lack of processes to conduct more Audit checks by Customs officers
