Definition of Marvel: To wonder; by implication to admire.
To wonder, wonder at, marvel, to be had in admiration Amazed and Marveled: (Acts 2:7) The former word denotes the first overwhelming surprise. The verb is literally to put out of place; hence, out of one's senses. The latter word, marveled, denotes the continuing wonder; meaning to regard with amazement, and with a suggestion of beginning to speculate on the matter. Spell Bound, Astonished, Wow! Do You Have Faith In God? The two times Jesus marveled were for two extremes – great faith and a total lack of it. Ask yourself this question, “When Jesus is looking at me, would He marvel at my great faith or the absence thereof?” Always remember that “without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
