2. Jesus and Nicodemus John 3:1-21
Verses – foretelling of Jesus death on the cross. Numbers 21:4-9.
“Whoever believes may in Him have eternal life” –
What kind of belief? A complete, active and obedient faith; James 2:18-24; Matthew 7:21; Hebrews 5:8-9
What kind of life? John 5:21-30, 40; 10:10; Mark 8:35

3. Jesus and Nicodemus John 3:1-21
Verses – our ability to be born again and enter the kingdom is because our heavenly Father loved us so much that He sent His Son. God’s demonstration of His love for us. Romans 8:31-32
Jesus came not to condemn but to save lives. He did not come to keep us out of the kingdom but to give us an opportunity to enter. Luke 19:10; John 12:47

4. Jesus and Nicodemus John 3:1-21
Verses – the contrast of the person who would be born again and enter the kingdom and the person who will reject the new birth.
Comparing light to darkness. Those in darkness don’t want to hear about needing to be born again. John 1:4-5; 8:12; 12:35-36
The one “who does the truth” – who is born of the water and the Spirit – comes to the light.

5. John’s Second Testimony John 3:22-36
Verses – Both Jesus and John baptizing – John in Aenon near Salim “for there was much water there.”
John had “not yet been thrown into prison.” Luke 3:18-20
Verses – the controversy, John’s disciples report that Jesus baptizing more than John. Any jealousy or envy? Luke 22:24ff; Matthew 20:20-28

Verses –
John recognized that this is from heaven.
I told you that “I have been sent ahead of Him.”
Not a cause of concern but a cause to rejoice.
It’s Jesus’ time – He must increase. I have done what was my mission – I must decrease.

John said: Jesus is divine, I am but human flesh. Jesus is above all. Matthew 28:18; 11:27
Jesus is a witness of what He speaks.
Jesus speaks the words of God.
We need to believe Him.
