The state website for our agency is cumbersome and hard to change – don’t have a lot of control. Opposite of the agency website is the Task Force website which allow our agency to have creative control.

Worked with relevant agencies to create a centralized toll-free number and process

11. The Problem
When compared nationally, Iowa is finding fewer foodborne illnesses.
Difficult for the public to figure out which agency to report potential foodborne illnesses to.
Peer reviewed journal article identified this as a challenge to reporting.
Identified as an area concern of Iowa food safety agencies during CIFOR toolkit evaluation process.
Lack of awareness about foodborne illness by the general public.
