Key Concepts Labelling Ethnocentrism Racism Bilingual
When teachers have stereotypical views of different ethnic groups. Afro-Carribean boys for example tend to be labelled as loud and disruptive whereas Asian girls are seen as hard working and obedient. Labelling Ethnocentrism Curriculum focus alienates Ethnic Minorities. History tends to focus on Europe and Britain. Texts now occasionally feature Ethnic Foci. Racism When members of ethnic minorities are treated in an unequal way due to their ethnicity. Five minutes Bilingual Ability to speak two languages fluently. When members of ethnic minorities become disillusioned with the agents of socialisation due to their unhappiness with how they are treated. Alienation Theory
