Overall Progress The team has begun writing the core document with completion of 1st draft anticipated October 2016 Our aim in writing the document is to… Foster a tone of transparency Tell a story about what we are doing well and then show areas of improvement, e.g., Positive Framework Evidence Areas of Improvement

Core Components 2.A. The institution operates with integrity in its financial, academic, personnel, and auxiliary functions; it establishes and follows policies and processes for fair and ethical behavior on the part of its governing board, administration, faculty, and staff. 2.B. The institution presents itself clearly and completely to its students and to the public with regard to its programs, requirements, faculty, and staff, costs to students, control, and accreditation relationships. 2.C. The governing board of the institution is sufficiently autonomous to make decisions in the best interest of the institution and to assure its integrity. 2.D. The institution is committed to freedom of expression and the pursuit of truth in teaching and learning. 2.E. The institution’s policies and procedures call for responsible acquisition, discovery and application of knowledge by its faculty, students, and staff.

Performance Gaps/Areas Requiring Immediate Attention
CATE Lab, do students have to sign a statement saying that they understanding academic honesty and integrity when using note takers or testing. Ethical teaching - separating personal opinion from teaching the content Part time lecturers - advancement is dependent on evaluation Gift giving - BoR policy Faculty Senate vote of no confidence - Margaret is following up with Judy BoR Code of Ethics 1.7 Presidential Search Clarity about costs for students (cost breakdown) Review HLC Criterion 2 from last accreditation team Ineffective stay a part of the institution Evaluation of employee & documentation Reporting structures (on paper reports to one place, in reality another) Personal Professional Development (Technological Proficiency) Research compliance Instructor retaliation Poor mentorship Grades being submitted Lack of transparency Lack of not holding individuals responsible for not staying within budgets Don’t bring people to the table who need to be involved Underestimating the revenue and capital outlay Been a feeling of a lack of transparency and holding people accountable, mismanagement No consequences for not staying on budget (exceptions)
