2 Heads and Tails! H: The Medieval Church was very important because
T: people believed that if you went to Church often you would go to Heaven when you died. H: Doom paintings were used in Churches because T: the Church services were in Latin! Nobody understood them so Doom paintings were needed. H: The Priest was very important to local villagers because T: he was involved in lots of different activities and people’s lives. 5 H: One of the biggest differences between England and Arabia was T: that England was a Christian country and Arabia was mostly Islamic. H: One of the reasons Christianity and Islam clashed so much was T: over religion. Both religions wanted to spread their influence over the World.

3 Heads and Tails! H: There were different reasons people went on Crusades. These were that T: people wanted to stop the spread of Islam, capture Jerusalem and enter Heaven when they died. H: The First Crusade began after Pope Urban II made a speech T: and in his speech he said that Islam must be stopped. H: The First Crusade ended successfully in the year T: 1089, after the Crusaders had captured Jerusalem. 5

8 Memory maker/note taker
Pair up. Decide who will be memory maker first and who will be note taker. You will swap later. The memory maker will have 5 minutes to collect as much information in as much detail as possible about the SECOND CRUSADE. Bring this information back to your note taker, who will record the information in their table. Once time is up, swap over and repeat the process for the THIRD CRUSADE. 5 minutes 20 End
