1 Officer Positions

2 Vice President The role of the club vice president can be summarized in one word: service. The vice president serves the president, other club officers, committees and the general membership. He or she is also expected to learn the duties of the president in order to fill in or take over as necessary. Learn more about the roll of the vice president, read the Club Officer Guide You must be a freshman or sophomore. Current juniors are not allowed to run because VP will be default President the next year if no one runs.

3 Treasurer The club treasurer controls the club’s money, both its collection and disbursement. He or she collects member dues, prepares and monitors the budget and maintains accurate financial records. The treasurer is in charge of planning fundraisers.

4 Junior Secretary This position is two years. The first year you learn the duties of junior secretary and then the next year you are the official secretary. The office of secretary is one of the most demanding in the organization and a good secretary is essential to the proper functioning of any Key Club. The secretary is responsible for taking minutes, keeping records and maintaining all important files for the club. You must be a freshman or sophomore, not a junior because this is a 2 year job.

5 Editor In this position you are in charge of collecting articles from each officer/rep and pictures. You will be making a monthly newsletter to send to the Texas- Oklahoma district. Having a background in journalism/yearbook does help for this position.

6 Rep Coordinator The position of the rep coordinator is to ensure that each of our reps is doing their job of finding events, writing articles, coming to meetings. Another main duty is relaying any information from the officers to the reps.

7 Webmaster In this position you will be updating the website as often as the Facebook is being updated. You will relay any information from the Facebook page for parents and students without Facebook. You will also be making both the fall and spring database. Bonus (not required): You could also make and run an app if you have to skills to do so

8 Historian In this position, you are to go to events, Key Club related activities, and meetings and take pictures. These will be used in our newsletters throughout the year. At the end of the year, the Historian is responsible of make a scrapbook for our District convention. The scrapbook must be very creative and artistic.

9 Decision Process ~We will hold interviews in Mr. Kent’s room (2307), make our decision, then post the results on the Facebook! ~You will need to be able to attend DCON 2017 (April 20 – April 23) – you will be field tripped out on the school days
