Responsibilities of EOP
Work directly for the president Advise the president Chief of Staff Most powerful advisor Serve as a “gatekeeper” – Who gets in? What information will the president access?

Federal Bureaucracy Agencies and employees of the executive branch organized by policy area Carry out programs/laws created by Congress Regulate various activities (i.e. police, banks, airlines, etc.) Independent Agencies Independent and deal with certain specialized areas within government
