Rulers Zhou ruled the east part of China.
Zhou Pingwand-Ji Yijiu B.C. Zhou Huanwang- Ji Lin B.C. Zhou Zhuangwang- Ji Tug B.C. Zhou Xiwang -Ji Hugi Zhou Hutwang - Ji Lang B.C. The Zhou used this idea to use for their takeover ruling of the former Shang kingdom. The Zhou kings were also called the "Sons of Heaven" and the Chinese empire was dubbed the "Celestial Empire”

Geography The Eastern Asia borders the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and South China Sea, between North Korea and Vietnam arable land: 10% permanent crops: 0% permanent pastures: 43% forests and woodland: 14% other: 33%

Representation of artifacts
The bronze vessels of the Zhou are almost the same as those of the Shang. Historical events during the Western Zhou period were also written down upon bamboo strips. Their Money

Government The Zhou began a different which was basically feudal.
The Zhou dynasty, whose god was Heaven, started to create a new belief system by crediting their successful overtake of the Shang dynasty.

Daily Life The Zhou adopted much of the Shang life style.
Importing Shang families to new towns they built to gain the knowledge of the Shang artisans. The Zhou also brought their religion with them.

Major Events One major events was the beginning of The Great Wall was being build. Was the moral government and enlightened rule in the thinking of the Confucianists Around 1150 BC, the Zhou moved from the Fen River 汾水 valley in modern Shanxi to the Wei River.

Major Achievements Was the using of glass and multi-color of wooden or bamboo were used for heat in the winter in a fire. Begin of iron casting technology and widespread use of iron tools during a war.

Religion The religion of the Zhou people was different from the Shang religion. While the Shang kings saw the universe filled with ghost and spirits of good and evil, the Zhou religion was more abstract.

Summary Alyssa: I learned that the Eastern Zhou Dynasty was a ruler from 770 B.C. to 256 B.C . for 551 years. Zhou Wuwang established the Zhou Dynasty and made Haojing (the present Chang'an County, Shaanxi Province) its capital. Logan I learned that the Zhou began as a semi-nomadic tribe that lived west of the Shang kingdom, soon the eastern Zhou became stronger than the Shang and defeated them in about 1040 B.C.
