2. What is Herzegovina?
Herzegovina is a historical and geographical region in the Dinaric Alps that comprises the southern part of present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina. The area of Herzegovina is 9,948 km².

3. The terrain of Herzegovina is mostly hilly karsts with high mountains in the north, except for the central valley of the river Neretva. The largest city is Mostar, in the center of the region.

4. The city of Mostar is situated in a beautiful valley bedded between high mountains of Herzegovina. It is thanks to the river Neretva that Mostar was able to develop as a city in the desert-like landscape of Herzegovina.

5. Neretva’s size turned Mostar very early in to a trading centre of the region.

6. Mostar the biggest and the most important city in Herzegovina and the center of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation. Mostar was named after its Old Bridge (Bosnian: Stari most) and the towers on its sides, "the bridge keepers" (natively: mostari).

7. What makes this city known is it’s famous bridge -The Old Bridge was built by the Ottoman empire in It was the great architect Mimar Hajrudin who had succeeded with the impossible
missinon to cross Neretva river with a single span se bridge.
