“Be At Peace Among Yourselves”
“12: And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13: And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves” (I Thes. 5). Introduction: Anytime you have a group of people (local church), there is the potential for people problems. Biblical peace, be it known, is never to be experienced at the expense of the truth (cp. Eph. 4: 3-6). What is stated in I Thessalonians 5: 13 is essentially the positive way of saying what is enjoined in I Corinthians 1: 10. Christians have a command to in general live peaceably (Rom. 12: 18).
