State Testing What will the Florida FCAT replacement
test require my child to do? Information can be found at the Florida Dept. of Education’s Website ( in the “Online Portal and Resources for the Florida State Assessments” link. *Begins in 3rd Grade*

State Testing Once inside the portal, click on “Training Tests”.

Important Times Class begins at 8:25 a.m. Lunch 11:45-12:15
Specials 2:05-2:55 (PE, Media, PE, PE, Music) Dismissal 3:15 p.m. (2:15 Wed.)

Snack Time Students can pack a healthy snack to eat mid-morning.

Field Trips December 1st-Santa’s Christmas Tree Forest- we will be walking there May 22-SeaWorld! extended day riding on a charter bus there If you’d like to chaperone, please be sure to see Jess in the front office for the information needed to become one.

Conferences The county has postponed FAIR testing until further notice. Therefore, I would like to begin conferences next week. If you are able to meet during the day, I have a schedule on the back table for you to choose a date/time. Otherwise, there will be a conference night on Monday, October 27th from 3:30-6:30 pm. Sign-up will be offered at a later time.

Child/Parent Responsibilities
Support and guide your child, don’t do it for him or her. (backpacks, homework, snacks, etc.) Show mom and dad what you can do on your own. Always remember: No harm has ever come to a child who forgot their homework, folder or library book. (The first few times) Child/Parent Responsibilities

Reminders: Orange Monday Folders sent home on Mondays- please look through its contents and send back the next day Spelling Tic-Tac-Toe due on Fridays Daily Math homework due back the next day Read every evening-Students are working on AR goals and Superintendent’s Reading Challenge Common Core has added more Depth and Rigor to what and how your child is learning. The students will be using journals in Math and Reading and learning to explain their thinking orally and in writing.
