2. Constructivism
Theory that says people construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences.
When we encounter something new, we have to reconcile it with our previous ideas and experiences, maybe changing what we believe or maybe discarding the new information as irrelevant.

3. Example Used in my unit on Lesson Plan 5
I challenge the students to do a gender swap journal with Romeo and Juliet. It challenges them to think as another gender and gives them a new outlook.
The students must look at a different viewpoint and really challenge their feelings.
I am teaching them new perspectives and assessing how well they adapt and react.
This is a new way to think creatively and outside of the box.
