21. Paradox- a statement that may seem contradictory and absurd but is often true
“She loved him and hated him at the same time” or “less is more” 22. Oxymoron- combining two normally opposite ideas "old news" "wise fool" "pretty ugly" 23. Bias- an influence or prejudice on a topic I like Vanilla ice cream, and I have to chose the ice cream for a party, I have a choice between strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. I'm biased towards vanilla but the most popular ice cream with my friends is chocolate. 24. Propaganda- information, ideas, or rumors spread to deliberately harm or help a cause

25. Syntax- order or arrangement of words or sentences
If you mess with syntax, you can change the meaning: The young man carries the lady. The lady carries the young man. 26. Theme- main idea, topic or subject in literature In The Hobbit, one theme is that even a small person can make a difference. 27. Tone- the reflection of a writer’s mood, manner, and attitude "Here's much to do with hate, but more with love," – Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Set at the beginning of the play, this sentence indicates that the story will be a love story but it will be one with a somber or sad note, rather than a happy ending.

Scar in "The Lion King" 29. Protagonist- main character Simba in “The Lion King” 30. Foil- character different from the protagonist used to highlight the protagonist’s traits Nala (afraid of the Shawdowlands, wants to obey parents) and Simba (brave, defiant of parents) in "The Lion King"
