1
Most important aspects of geometry for early childhood is that geometrical shapes possess critical attributes- must haves. A triangle might have different orientations but it must have three sides and three corners. A cube might be purple or little but it must have six faces.
2
The characteristics, attributes or features are more important than the names of the objects and shapes. similarities and differences straight and curved surfaces or faces roll, stack, number of faces, corners, edges number of sides and angles
3
Materials language The language that comes from using concrete and pictorial materials Interactive whiteboard activities
4
Collect Three-dimensional objects to create a geometry resources box.
7
Use pipe-cleaners, string, plastic coated wire and elastic to make the outline of Two-dimensional shapes.
8
Mathematical language
The new mathematical words that are used with the concept. Say the specific words during activities to describe positions. Ask questions so the children have the opportunity to use the position words? Where is the cat? next to the basket
10
Symbol language The mathematical abbreviations and formulae.
Geometry does not have symbolic notation as operations and measurement require.
