From the syllabus Assignment 2: Needs and Assets of Students -- edTPA Contexts for Learning Chart (due at the midpoint of the semester—see academic calendar) Identify the needs and assets of students in your fieldwork class. Complete the Contexts for Learning Chart in the edTPA Elementary Handbook [see the edTPA table of Contents for page number]. Complete this form to the best of your ability, with the information you observe and with any information provided by your CT. The template can be found on the edTPA Blackboard Community site. Do not use students’ real names in your submission. Post this to Livetext.

3rd grade class; teacher completed running records Data showed 4 students who are still learning diphthong /oi/ FE3 candidate developed a short re-engagement mini- lesson on diphthongs Used a formative assessment to determine student learning (each student read two sentences that contained several /oi/)

Re-engagement Lesson Example 2
6th grade math class Last chapter test showed 3 students were still learning how to find the area of triangles FE3 candidate designed a short re- engagement mini-lesson for these students Used a formative assessment (exit slip) at the end to gauge student learning. Students completed one problem independently
