Survey Monkey - Child Poverty Mapping
Aims were: To develop a better understanding of support available to families experiencing poverty and / or in need of crisis support To update the VCF directory with Anti-Poverty Response information so this is easily searchable at To inform the developing Anti-Poverty strategy for Sefton To identify gaps which we could respond to as a forum To identify opportunities for partnership working which will benefit families experiencing poverty Extended date to 23rd May 2016??

Responses to date 15 responses (all Sefton VCFS) including:
PSS - Sefton Young Carers, Ykids, Parenting 2000, Sefton Play Council, Fire Support Network, Woodvale & Ainsdale Community Association, Irish Community Care Merseyside, Formby Ravens Fencing club, Venus, Southport Salvation Army, Southport & Birkdale Provident Society, St. Leonard's Youth & Community Centre- South Sefton Food Bank, Tomorrow's People Trust Ltd, Sefton Childrens Trust Range of boroughwide and specific postcode ares

Homelessness Support = 6 services Fuel Support = 2 services Food, Clothing, Furniture = 8 services Money Management = 4 services Social Inclusion/Befriending Support = 7 services Gifting/Philanthropy = 2 services Support with transport and access to services = 6 services Other/Innovation - Community garden ‘grow your own’, cooking on a budget, self help groups

Welfare Reform and Anti-Poverty Plan
Lead: Charlotte Bayley Sefton MBC DRAFT Key objectives of the plan are: Objective 1: To develop a sustainable approach to emergency support and crisis intervention through a partnership approach Objective 2: To take a proactive approach to helping those already in welfare system to get out of the welfare system Objective 3: To build resilience in the wider population to prevent problems from arising and stimulate very early action work Objective 4: To have an active role in the development of Multi-Agency Teams through the Early Intervention and Prevention agenda* Objective 5: Co-ordinate training, data and communication and work to a set of agreed principles across the partnership Objective 6: Develop digital and online methods of information, assessment and support* (Objectives 4 and 6 will be delivered through separate partnership plans but will feature specific actions related to welfare reform and anti-poverty) *ECM Forum consultation to take place in the near future potentially joint with Health & Social Care Forum

Priority 1 Ensure all children and young people have a positive educational experience Priority 2 Ensure all children are supported to have a healthy start in life and a healthy adulthood Priority 3 Improving the quality of lives of children and young people with additional needs and vulnerabilities, to ensure they are safe and fulfil their individual potential Priority 4 Ensure positive emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people is achieved.
