Graphing Logarithmic Functions
Step 1: Draw a coordinate plane Step 2: place the tip of your pencil on the point (1, 0) Step 3: move left or right h Step 4: move up or down k Step 5: place your first point Step 6: Draw in the asymptote (this time use the h value to make a vertical asymptote) Step 7: Solve the function for x Step 8: Use a t-chart with 2 y values above and below the point Step 9: Plot the points and connect the points ****Notice that the graph looks like exponential growth or decay rotated 90 degrees **** Remember When graphing logarithms, the asymptote is the h value
