Help explore career opportunities Provide experience to learn more about self and world of work

Understand physical and socio emotional development Know and appreciate themselves Overcome fear,anxiety,tension which hinder their well being and adjustment

6 Guidance Activities Understanding the school environment;
Understanding self and others; Understanding attitudes and behaviors; Decision-making and problem-solving; Interpersonal and communication skills; School success skills; Career awareness and educational planning

7 What is Curriculum ? Curriculum is the sum total of the experiences provided by a school to its students

8 NCF –2005 Highlights Teaching to take care of natural ability,interest and rate of learning Try not to fit the child in to - by correcting him and put the child in to some mould/standard As the child grows he is able to learn from other sources,check information ,decide what to to do etc

9 What requires reinforcement ?
Flexibility in school system (time table , examination,methods of teaching ,freedom for organizing curriculum) Link between what happens in classroom and life outside (Children experience at home ,community and school) Focus on present abilities and difficulties of children ( not too much stress about future )

Encourage thinking Opportunities for self discovery Cultural diversity ; respect to other cultures Recognition of ID –promote and nourish wide range of capacities and skills including performing arts

Commitment to democracy, and values of equality, justice, respect for human dignity and rights Independence of thoughts and action Sensitivity to other well-being and feelings Learning to learn, willingness to unlearn, and relearn
