5. What Is Photosynthesis?
Comes from the Greek words:
photo - light
synthesis - putting together
Therefore, it means “using light to put something together”
During photosynthesis, plants use the energy from sunlight to convert water and carbon dioxide into carbohydrates and oxygen. The energy is now STORED in the carbohydrate (STARCH) molecule.

Photosynthesis is the conversion of Solar Energy (Light Energy) into a chemical energy
Photosynthesis is the process in which plants are able to make their own food.

7. Chemical Formula Reactants → Products
Photosynthesis:
6CO2 + 6H2O + Light → C6H12O6 + 6O2
(Carbon Dioxide) + (Water) + Light > (Sugar- Glucose)+ (Oxygen)
Cellular Respiration:
C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O + ATP

Chloroplasts contain a magic compound, chlorophyll, that can absorb sunlight and start the whole process

14. Glucose (organic compound) is also used to build up the plant’s body cells
Plants are taking carbon dioxide (gas) from the air and using it to create solid material that they need to build their body structures
By making a lot of photosynthesis plants are able to produce enough oxygen (O2) to use during cellular respiration and have enough leftovers to oxygenate the environment (so we can also use/breath it)
