3 2 2 1 Additional pollutants: Request for Parameters’ list
For NO2 1 3 Other AP In VP2
5
Request to prepare parameter list for further additional pollutants
Issue was discussed within group: Agreed that only NO2 should be required from all labs in VP2 Reasons: most labs do not have instrumentation or instrumentation is not available for other APs reference fuel E5 measurement of EtOH and Aldehydes not meaningful WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga
6
The AP sub-group wanted to encourage all labs to deliver as many compounds of the additional pollutants list as they can & the results will be analyzed during validation phase 2.
7
3 2 2 1 Additional pollutants Request for Parameters’ list
For NO2 1 3 Other AP In VP2
8
Parameter list has been amended (Version03)
NO measurement from Bag After discussion of pros and cons it was decided to retain the possibility of bag measurement of NO for VP2. All participating labs should measure both ways (bag and dilute modal). Parameter list has been amended (Version03) WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga
9
Parameter List for NO2 measurements
(AP) Version 03 WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga
10
Qualitative assessment parameters for validation phase 2
NO-measurement All participating labs should measure both ways (bag and dilute modal). All measurements: Absolute difference between dilute and modal measurement Repeat tests: Variability of NO result compared to NOx-measurement Variability of NO result from bag measurement versus dilute modal WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga

3 2 2 1 Additional pollutants Request for Parameters’ list
for NO2 1 3 Other AP In VP2
12
Labs may use existing equipment for NH3 or N2O
Report setup/analyzers used and experiments quite in detail Further decision will be based on results of VP2
13
WLTP-DTP-AP-05-01 Table of candidate methods for additional pollutants
CDL: Chemiluminiscence Detector for NO2 QCL: Quantum Cascade Tunable Infrared Laser Differential Absorption Spectrometer (QC-TILDAS) for Measurements of Atmospheric Ammonia LDS: Laser Diode (in situ and tunable); Ammonia slip lost or fall NDIR non dispersive infra red WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch-Astorga WLTP-DTP-AP-05-01
14
Qualitative assessment parameters for validation phase 2
N2O-measurement Use of two (or more) different systems in parallel (e.g. QCL, GC-ECD, FTIR,…) Cal Gas: 5 ppm of N2O in N2 (+/- 2%) All measurements: repeatability of air bag measurement difference in result of the two systems stability of calibration (apply cal gas before and after test) Repeat tests: Variability of N2O result WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga
15
Qualitative assessment parameters for validation phase 2
NH3-measurement NH3 only for Diesel with SCR take care of extracted sample measurement of two systems in parallel (e.g. QCL and FTIR…) use of different sampling systems one with smallest possible Volume, shortest possible line length one with larger Volume and line length where available, use in situ system in parallel All measurements: compare average concentration result Compare traces of the systems incidence of first peak rise time drag Repeat tests: Variability of NH3 result WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga
16
Request to include EtOH
Request to OICA to include one FFV (one lab) Request to suppliers to make available online systems for EtOH All systems measure in parallel NMOG Online systems for Aldehydes are under development but not yet available WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga

Drafting of GTR for reference methods [*]
NO2 and NH3 based on OICA proposals N2O, Ethanol and Aldehydes based on existing legislation Gathering of performance data for candidate methods Tasks have been assigned within group and will be performed until next meeting AP-Work on-going [*] Draft GTR proposal: WLTP-DTP-LabProcICE-112 (…)

Open Issues NH3 sampling during engine off
Temperature for NH3 sampling (110 – 190?C) proposal: set point between 110 C and 190 C with range of +/- 10 K JAMA position: between 110 and 133 due to decomposition of urea
21
Open Issues (2) Traceability to national standards of cal gas for AP
DTP gas industry difficulties for NH3, EtOH to be expected, achievable accuracy/stability has to be established WLTP-DTP-AP, Mörsch/Astorga

(A table of candidate methods to be evaluated has been set up)
General guidelines agree on performance criteria LoD cross interference … (A table of candidate methods to be evaluated has been set up) allow alternative methods (and factors) based on existing legislation where suitable avoid raw measurement where possible
24
Definitions for THC, NMHC and NMOG have been agreed
(Alignment with ICE lab group is needed) THC: total Hydrocarbons (All compounds measurable by FID) NMHC: Non-methane hydrocarbons (THC excluding CH4 and ROH, response factors are applied) NMOG: Non-methane organic gases (NMHC plus ROH and RHO)
