2 Creating a myHealthPartners account
The next section will take you through how to create a myHealthPartners account.

3 Create an account To create an account, visit healthpartners.com and click Sign up.

4 Create an account For members For patients For both
You’ll be asked to choose a path for creating your account. If you’re a member, choose the first option. If you’re a patient (you go to HealthPartners clinics), choose the second option. If you’re both, choose the third option.

5 Create an account Enter your 8-digit member ID number and date of birth. Then, choose whether you’d like to verify your identity online (takes 5-7 minutes) or via U.S. mail (takes about one week)

6 Create an account If you choose to verify your identity online you’ll answer questions from Experian, an independent fraud prevention service. If you start down this path, and change your mind, you can instead select the option to Verify my identity another way, and have a code sent to you in the mail.

7 Create an account Create your username and password, and select three security questions to answer. The security questions will be used if you forget your password.

8 Create an account Your account is now created!

9 Exploring your myHealthPartners account
Now, we’ll walk through what your account can do for you.

10 Home There are six tabs that you see when you log on.
Here’s a look at your homepage. In the top left corner, you’ll see the My activity timeline. This allows you to view past and upcoming care (appointments, hospital stay, lab work), see preventive care reminders and more. You will only see upcoming appointment information if you use HealthPartners medical or dental clinics, but the past care will show up for any location once a claim is received. This can be helpful if you forget the last time you went in for your annual preventive care visit with your primary care doctor. The homepage also provides quick access to other convenient features including the ability to search for care, access your favorite doctors, view your plan balances at a glance and chat with Member Services. If you’re a patient, you’ll also see health information on the home tab.

11 Find care There are two or three options to choose from when you want to find care. The first option is called HealthPartners clinics. You’ll see this option if you use HealthPartners clinics. It provides a search specific to these clinics. The second option provides the ability to search for care in your network. Here you can search for care by name, clinic, or condition. The third option provides the opportunity for you to compare costs by procedure. Later, you’ll see an example of what you see when you use this option.

12 Find care Choose to search for a doctor in your zip code that can do a specific procedure, for example - ear tube insertion. You’ll see a list all the doctors in your network that can do this. You can get an estimated cost for this procedure based on past claims and your benefits. This is an estimate but it’s a good estimate of what you’ll pay. Cost estimates are available for nearly 300 treatments and procedures, including: • Biopsies • CT scans, X-rays and MRIs • Delivering a baby • Physical therapy • Joint replacements There are a few more ways to narrow your search. Select whether you’d like to see a male or female, have your doctor speak a certain language, etc. If you click on the provider you can see if they are accepting patients, which clinics they work out of and what hospital they’re affiliated with. By checking the Compare box, you can also select up to three providers to compare side-by-side.

13 Compare results When comparing doctors side-by-side, you can see how the cost varies depending on location and provider. You can also save a doctor as a favorite, which makes them easy to find in the future.
