El Zócalo / La Plaza de la Constitución is the heart of Mexico City. It is a large plaza where many celebrations and other gatherings of importance are held.

La Piedra del Sol was discovered in 1790 in the Zócalo while the Mexico City Cathedral was being repaired.
The stone shows that the Aztecs had knowledge of geometry and mechanics.
Although the exact purpose and meaning of the stone is unclear, there are religious implications.

The Aztecs were deeply religious and devoted to their gods. The majority of their temples were dedicated to the gods.
Templo Mayor was dedicated to Tlácloc, the god of rain and water, and Huitzilopochtli, the patron of the Aztecs and the god of war and the sun.

The music of Mexico is very diverse in its genres and performance styles. It is influenced by indigenous and modern music alike
The most popular styles are heavily influenced by folk music and include banda, corridos, norteño, and ranchera.
