1 Individual research report (IRR)
Log in to your computer and open up your IRR Outline. Today you will begin writing your IRR papers in class. In your Pt1 folder create a document entitled “IRR”. This is ALREADY shared with me  Go to the class website and review the exemplar IRR submissions from the past (2 in total). We will discuss shortly. I will continue to conference individually with students during class today.

2 IRR Details Research Report (not argumentative) with ANALYSIS
Covers some perspectives/viewpoints of your group’s topic MLA Format (Times New Roman, 12-pt font, double space, MLA works cited, etc.) words…This should be included under the title of your IRR. There should be a proper MLA Works Cited Page at the end (NOT the Abib!!!) If you include a source you have not used within the paper you will receive point reductions based on the rubric! IF THERE ARE MORE THAN 10 GRAMMAR/SYNTAX ERRORS THAT YOUR PROOFREADING SHOULD HAVE CORRECTED, THEN THE PAPER WILL BE GRADED ONLY UP TO THAT POINT (BASED OFF THE RUBRIC).

3 From College board: Your Individual Research Report
Identifies the area of investigation and its relationship to the overall problem or issue; Summarizes, explains, analyzes, and evaluates the main ideas and reasoning in the chosen sources; Identifies, compares, and interprets a range of perspectives about the problem or issue; and Cites all sources used and includes a list of works cited or bibliography

4 Grading Your IRR will be graded off of the College Board Rubric (Component 1 of 2: Individual Research Report) Important Notes from the rubric include: Use a variety of sources and perspectives Make sure your sources communicate with each other, along with the various lenses/perspectives addressed Use in-text citations as MLA format describes Discuss the credibility & relevance of your sources with EXPLANATION Use proper grammar and syntax….Please continuously proofread and peer edit! Include a Words Cited Page at the conclusion of your document This will go into the Major Category of Grading for AP Seminar. Meeting all deadlines in the CORRECT FORMAT will be easy completion grades within the Minor Category for AP Seminar.

6 HOMEWORK Use the college board rubric to see what score you would give the following two IRR papers: Example 1 ; Example 2 In class next time you will hear the actual college board scores. Work on your IRR. You will have an opportunity to read through someone else’s to peer review (using computers) in class next class, so you should have a good amount completed to receive good feedback. Please make note of your WORD COUNT!
