What Is fte? Criteria for funding in Florida is one student in membership in one or more FEFP programs for a school year (180 days) or its equivalent. The time equivalent for a school year varies with the school and student as noted below: Standard School Grades K through 3, or PK-ESE program = 720 instructional hours. Grades 4 through 12 = 900 instructional hours The FTE generated by a student for the purpose of FEFP funding is limited to 1.0 FTE during the 180 day school year. FTE is defined as one student in membership in a program or a group of programs for 25 hours = 1500 minutes per week, for 180-day regular school year Funding is divided into two mayor FTE surveys: .5 FTE October (survey 2) – covers the first 90 days of the 180-day school year .5 FTE February (survey 3) – covers the second 90 days of the 180-day school year 1 FTE BASIC FTE per student/per school year Survey 1 (summer) reported for statistical purposes, no categorical funds are provided Survey 4 (DJJ centers) funded for a day school year

Accurate FTE Reporting is a process…
REGISTRATION SCHEDULING ATTENDANCE FTE REPORTING FTE survey periods are set annually by the State of Florida Commissioner of Education. Each PK-12 student must meet the membership (assigned to a course(s) or program), and attendance requirements (at least 1 day during FTE survey week, or 6 school days prior to FTE survey week) to be eligible for funding. Teacher Roster Verification – FM 7494 Roster Correction Form - Each of these steps must be accurate and complete for EVERY student.

Common FTE Errors FTE ERROR CODE FTE ERROR MESSAGE SI-4
Room number either blank or not found. No FTE accrued. The room number is missing from the PF-9 (Course Code) screen. If the room number is not updated you will lose the FTE. SW-8 Student schedule has duplicate period problem. This error will show whenever you are pulling student’s for therapies and you have not inputted the military time. It can also appear if you have scheduled a student for the same periods. SW-19 ESE student with no ESE course; course changed to basic unless consultative. If student is receiving consultation/collaboration services according to the IEP, the SPED-EMS must reflect this in order for the PF-17 (ESE Services) screen to show “Y”. In addition, this error message can also show if a SPED student does not have ESE courses on their schedule. Information must be updated on the IEP/EP in the SPED-EMS System. SW-22 Student has less than 20 hours (PK-3) or 25 hours (4-12). If a student is full-time, verify the ESAP number used and/or that all periods have been scheduled on the PF-1 (STUDENT RECORD/SUBJECTS) screen. Including Term 2 courses. SI-7 Student is LEP and teacher is META Qualified; FEFP program number changed to ESOL. This is an informational message that indicates that an ESOL course as been assigned and the basic FTE line number has been changed to the ELL FTE funding line. Also, that the teacher is META qualified. This error message will not come off the FTE simulation. Common FTE Errors
