“Fear Not”
Isaiah 41:10-13

3. For the next 4 weeks we are looking at scriptures which tell us not to fear. Today is the start, and over the next 3 weeks we will look at scriptures in the birth story of Jesus which tells us
“Fear Not!”

14. 10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.11 Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.12 You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all.13 For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you,
“Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

15. 1) I am your God – over you.
10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;
To be dismayed literally means you have completely lost courage; you are utterly and thoroughly disheartened.
Notice that the key to not being dismayed is to make sure that God is your God.

16. Psalm 46:10 — Be still and know that
2) I am with you – by your side.
10 Fear not, for I am with you;
We should take courage NOT ONLY BECAUSE GOD IS GOD AND HE IS OVER US, but because our HE is with us!
Psalm 46:10 — Be still and know that
I am God!

17. Declare these 2 truths:
I will live without fear because God is Over me.
I will live without fear because God is With me.

18. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
3) I will strengthen you – from inside of you. 10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you,
We need to learn to lean on God to strengthen us.  
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

19. Declare these 3 truths:
I will live without fear because God is Over me.
I will live without fear because God is With me.
I will live without fear because God will Strengthen me.

20. 4) I will help you – all around you.
10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you
I will trust God to help me. Because God is always present, He promises His strength and He promises to help us.
Heb. 13:6 So we can confidently say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?

21. Declare these 4 truths:
I will live without fear because God is Over me.
I will live without fear because God is With me.
I will live without fear because God will Strengthen me.
I will live without fear because God will Help me.

22. GET THE PICTURE: God is not holding us with two fingers. IN HIS PALM
5) I will uphold you – from underneath you. 10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
God will uphold me with His righteous right hand. The word “uphold” means to hold up or grasp, to support.

23. Declare these 5 truths:
I will live without fear because God is Over me.
I will live without fear because God is With me.
I will live without fear because God will Strengthen me.
I will live without fear because God will Help me.
I will live without fear because God will Uphold me.
