2. Location services support
Recently Several companies in ETSI have come to 3GPP with work items to TSG RAN and TSG GERAN after review by TSG SA WG2 that has concluded that there was no impact on the global architecture.
The main goal is to extend the transport mechanism over the different interfaces of the radio access networks to support other mechanisms than GPS .
This would decrease the geographical areas and environments where location based services today may have limitations in Quality of Service

3. Location services support
This mechanism does not only allow for new satellite constellations to be used but also the already existing ones i.e.:
GPS
GLONASS
Galileo

4. Location services support
Based on the current specification elaborated in 3GPP modification are under way to extend the mechanism
Support from China is also key to support and extend this possibility
