The product was invented in 1874
They were made from large cricket pads to protect the front of the leg.

Shin guards were first used by a soccer team called Nottingham Forest in Nottingham in the U.K.
They call the game football

4. What materials were originally used to make this product?
Fiberglass.
Stiff, sturdy and light weight materials.

They have added soft foam rubber.

They were hurting the players while playing.
Many people were complaining .
They wanted the shin guards to be more light weight.

8. If I could change the product..
I would change the cushion on the shin part so it will hurt less.
The Velcro that is used to strap the shin guard on your leg. I would make it sticky so it would stay on your leg while running.
