Taking Responsibility E For a sustainable future E SikaGrout® -3 4 E The first two products to be launched will be SikaGrout-334 from Sika Austria (Q4-2013) and SikaGrout-234 from Sika France (Q1-2014) De eerste twee producten die zullen worden gelanceerd zijn SikaGrout-334 (Sika Oostenrijk (Q4-2013) en SikaGrout-234 (Sika Frankrijk (Q1-2014) The middle number in the 3-digits will now indicate the SikaGrout has improved sustainability characteristics, demonstrated by an LCA. Het middelste getal in de 3-cijfers geeft aan dat de SikaGrout verbeterde duurzaamheidskenmerken heeft, aangetoond door een LCA. The sustainabilty characteristics will be communicated on fact sheet which can be down loaded via a QR code on the packaging or PDS. De duurzaamheidskenmerken staan vermeld in een factsheet die via een QR-code op de verpakking of de PDS geladen kan worden.

Sika sustainable solutions FACING THE CHALLENGE
A positive 3 for the future: The main characteristic of SikaGrout®-334 is the significant reduction of Portland cement which is estimated to generate approximately one tonne of carbon dioxide per produced tonne. In direct comparison to an equivalent performing SikaGrout® product, reducing the amount of Portland cement in SikaGrout®-334 by 28 % has demonstrated the following benefits: 3 ~12% reduction in primary energy demand ~17% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions ~16% reduction in summer smog SikaGrout® The first product to be launched by Sika Austria will be the SikaGrout-334 and contains 28 % supplementary cement material (SCM) In comparison to an equivalent 300 series product from the same production (i.e. SikaGrout-316), SikaGrout-334 is demonstrated, when comparing raw materials, transportation and production in a Life Cycle Assessment, to reduce the following The primary energy demand by 12 % The carbon dioxide emission by 17 % The summer smog contribution by 16 % The performances of a 300 series SikaGrout are maintained Het eerste product dat door Sika Oostenrijk wordt gelanceerd is de SikaGrout-334 en bevat 28% alternatief materiaal voor cement. in vergelijking met een gelijkwaardig product van de 300-serie (bijv. Sika sustainable solutions environmental benefits
The new SikaGrout aims to be more sustainable compared to an existing equivalent SikaGrout product By; Using waste materials like fly ash or slag To; Reduce the disposal of waste to landfills Which; Alleviates demand for Portland cement With the benefit to improve the Carbon Footprint by decreasing CO2 Emissions SikaGrout-334 aims to show the sustainability benefits in a credible way. This is achieved with the reduction of the binder material, Portland cement. Portland cement is estimated to produce 0.8 – 1.0 kg of CO2 per 1.0 kg of produced cement. By reducing the amount of Portland cement in SikaGrout we can reduce the carbon footprint. Furthermore, using a supplementary cement material (SCM) such as fly ash or slag to repalce Portland cement, Sika is finding a use for waste material which may normally be disposed of in a landfill or other.

Sika sustainable solutions decreasing CO2 Emissions
2.1 Communicating sustainability QR Code
The new Corporate Identity packing is not yet available therefore we use the old style distributuion bags. A QR code will lead the customer to a product sustainabilty factsheet. Countries domesticating a formulation or developing a sustainable SikaGrout will be responsible for their QR code and factsheet (based on the template) If the language is not available on the QR code for SikaGrout-334 or SikaGrout-234, then the local Sika will be responsible for translating the factsheet and adding it to the list (with Corporate Marketing support)

The sustainability factsheet is structured to show The product features The advantages The benefits And the proof! The Sika Organisation is responsibile for translation of the factsheet into their local language (EN, FR, DE and ES are currently available fior SikaGrout-334 (Austria)) 22/09/2018 Sustainable SikaGrout Solutions
