5. GLAAD Spirit Day #spiritday

6. Why should we wear purple tomorrow?
Well, it is to show that you do not support bullying against the LGBTQ youth community GLAAD worked to involve millions of teachers, workplaces, celebrities, media outlets and students in going purple on social media or wearing purple, a color that symbolizes spirit on the rainbow flag.

7. Why support #spiritday and GLAAD:
49% of the LGBTQ students have experienced cyberbullying
56.7% of LGBTQ students did not report experiences of bullying because they doubted an intervention would help
61.6% of LGBTQ students who have reported bullying said school staff didn't do anything about the problem
It is time to take a stand and support LGBTQ+ students!

8. So to show support:
Come Tomorrow to the stage during both lunches and take a pledge (if you choose) to receive a purple ribbon to take a stand against bullying and harassment and support LGBTQ+ students.
Use #spiritday on social media to show more support, also you can change your social media filter to purple!

A % Mastery or Excellence 4 Grade Points
B % Above Average or Good 3 Grade Points
C % Average or Acceptable 2 Grade Points
D % Below Average or Unacceptable 1 Grade Points
F 0-59% Failing or Unacceptable 0 Grade Points
Letter grades of A, B, C are passing grades and you receive 5 credits for each class you pass.
D is considered an unsatisfactory passing grade; you receive 5 credits for passing but cannot move on to more advanced classes until you earn a C or better. Colleges will not accept D’s, you must pass a class with a C or better to meet admissions requirements.

Theme dress days are NOT FREE DRESS DAYS! All students not participating are to be in school uniform.
Students who are participating must follow the theme guidelines listed for that theme day.

Students may wear in a crazy style or fix their hair up crazy, non-permanent hair paint/color is permitted.
Hair color and style must be done before coming to school:
Leave all hair products at home.
i.e. hair gel, spray, color, etc.
All hair color must be washable and non-permanent and be removed by Thursday.

Students may wear pajamas to school.
No see through, sheer, tank top or spaghetti strap PJs may be worn.
All pajama clothing must be complete with top and bottoms, no mixing with non pajama clothing items.
No slippers, stuffed animals, or blankets.

Students may wear bright colored clothing.
All other clothing items must comply with uniform policy.

27. Door Decorating Contest!
In Honor of Red Ribbon Week, we will be having another decorating contest.
Start coming up with ideas today 10/19. You can begin decorating 10/20. We will judge them 6th period FRIDAY 10/28
The theme this year is:
YOLO. Be Drug Free.

28. All teachers and offices are invited to participate
All teachers and offices are invited to participate. Teachers any one of your periods may enter the contest. The students in that period will be awarded the winning prizes.
Decorations must be viewable from the hall or walk way, of building 4000 for judging.
The door must be able to open and close normally.
The door decoration must include the Red Ribbon Week Theme of YOLO. BE DRUG FREE.
The door decoration must promote a drug free lifestyle or have an anti-drug, alcohol or tobacco use theme
Doors must be decorated between Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 28. Doors must be completed by 5th period on Friday, October 28 and will be judged 6th period.
