8. JFK & The Berlin Wall
In 1961, the tension between the USSR and the US were increasing.
Around 4 million East Germans moved west showing their dissatisfaction with the Soviet Union.
In 1961 the USSR began construction of the Berlin Wall in order to stop East German from going into West Berlin.
The Wall will stand until 1989.
