Teacher This presentation explores using K-7 Math to support a whole-school approach to mathematics via the Common Core curriculum. Please allow about 15 minutes to go through the presentation.

Planning Planning across classes in a school needs to be supported by a common planning framework. The common planning framework at K-7 Math consists of 8 Scope and Sequence Planners – one for each grade level.

In Summary Building a Whole-School Approach to Mathematics
K-7 Maths is designed to support a whole-school approach to planning, teaching, assessing A whole-school approach gives students the best chance of success in mathematics A whole-school approach is predicated on having a common planning framework for all teachers The Scope and Sequence Planners are an easy to use tool for enabling a common planning approach Start with a Common Planning Framework We have provided a CPF for the Common Core curriculum and Teaching Mathematics K-7 curriculums. The CPF consists of 8 Scope and Sequence Planners (i.e. one for each grade level) The 8 Planners seamlessly link (sequence) the content (scope) across grade levels A Common Assessment Program A whole-school approach is supported at K-7 Math by a common assessment program A common assessment program sets common standards for all teachers and students K-7 Math common assessments are provided for each of the 8 Grade levels
