Technical Qualifications Overview
Level Type of qualification Size (GLH) Key Stage 4 2 Technical Award 120 Key Stage 5 Technical Certificate 360 / 450 3 Advanced Technical Certificate / Diploma / Extended Diploma 360 / 450 / 540 / 720 / 1080 Available at levels 2 and 3 and in different sizes to meet an individual learner’s needs, delivered over one or two years. Sizes and levels vary per subject area Designed in partnership with employers such as EDF, RSPCA and IBM Built inline with DfE’s new design principles and approved to appear on performance tables Carry UCAS points at Level 3 – supporting progression to university Sizes and levels vary per subject area. Available at level 2 and 3 and in different sizes to meet an individual learner’s needs, delivered over one or two years

Key components of our new qualifications
These are the components that make up Technical Qualifications. All components must be completed to achieve the qualification. Technical Qualifications Assignment - Externally set (City & Guilds) - Internally marked (Centre) - Externally moderated (City & Guilds) - Contributes to final Technical qualification grade End assessment: Examinations - Externally marked (City & Guilds) Employer Involvement (KS5 Qualifications L2 & L3 only) - Centres develop programme of activities - Evidence submitted (Centre) - External review and approval (City & Guilds) - Requirement for Technical qualification Optional Units - Centres select which units to deliver - Samples externally moderated (City & Guilds) There is no direct claim status (DCS) for Technical Qualifications. Results are issued by City & Guilds

95 City & Guilds Technical Qualifications across13 subject areas and at 3 different levels. These will show on the 2019 performance tables.
