FIRST AMENDMENT ACTUAL TEXT MEANING
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Citizens of the United States have the right to freedom of religion or lack thereof speech or speaking out press or media assemble or protest petition or disagree by going to court Terms to Know: Slander Libel

SECOND AMENDMENT ACTUAL TEXT MEANING
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Right to bear arms: You can have a weapon in your possession if you go through the proper channels (permits/registration)

SECOND AMENDMENT State militias are no longer necessary and have been folded in to the national military Citizens now can keep guns (arms) to protect themselves from criminals Citizens may keep guns for hunting Gun owners must acquire a permit Reserved powers allow states to make laws regarding gun ownership Concealed Weapons Waiting periods

THIRD AMENDMENT ACTUAL TEXT MEANING
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. Right to refuse Quartering by the military The military cannot take over your home regardless of the circumstances (war or peace) You do not have to let soldiers live in your house, except if there is a war and only if Congress has passed a law.

FOURTH AMENDMENT ACTUAL TEXT MEANING
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Search & seizures: You have the right to privacy, no unreasonable search and seizure without official search warrants. Search must be specific to item on warrant Nobody can search your body, house, papers and things unless they can prove to a judge (get a search warrant) that they have good reason (probable cause) to think you have committed a crime
