Amendment 6: Protects the rights of the accused
Guarantees “a speedy public trial” the right to know their charges right to hear those testifying against them Right to an attorney If they cannot afford legal service, the government must provide it

Amendment 7: Juries can decide civil cases
If the dispute is over an issue of more than $20 , the accused has the RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY.

Amendment 8 bans excessive bail/fines
bans “cruel and unusual punishment”

Amendment 9 The rights listed in the constitution are not the only rights that citizens have! Example: Education

Amendment 10 Any power not given to the federal government belong to the states and the people! This helps balance power between state and federal government.
