STARTER 8/11-8/14 If you have a signed syllabus please turn it into the appropriate tray. Please have your own device or take an iPad from the cart. Prepare to complete a Study Island pre-assessment. SPI 0807.Inq.1 Design a simple experimental procedure with an identified control and appropriate variables. SPI 0807.Inq.2 Select tools and procedures needed to conduct a moderately complex experiment. SPI 0807.Inq.3 Interpret and translate data into a table, graph, or diagram. SPI 0707.Inq.4 Draw a conclusion that establishes a cause and effect relationship supported by evidence. SPI 0807.Inq.5 Identify a faulty interpretation of data that is due to bias or experimental error.

MIND PIE PRE-ASSESSMENT
Analyze the slices of the mind pie at your table. For each slice of the pie place a piece of paper to indicate your level of confidence with the topic. The paper colors mimic the colors on a traffic light: Green= Go- very comfortable Yellow= somewhat comfortable Red= not at all As a group assess the colors. Determine the topic most members are confident about; least confident.

PART 2- RACES: Step 1- As a table determine the appropriate sequence of the index cards located at the center of your table. Raise your hands when you are ready for me to check. . . Step 2- Shuffle the cards. Then each group member takes a turn(s) placing the cards in order as quickly as possible. Step 3- The fastest member of every team prepare for a table to table face off challenge. Step 4- The winning participant wins prizes for entire group!!!!!! PART1- FOLDABLE: Take a piece of white paper. Fold in half. Divide top flap into 7 equal parts. Label them in the order of our vocab cards. Use the information provided to complete the sections. Complete for HW as necessary.
