Brave New World
2
Factory This picture represents how babies were made in the Book Brave New world. The government did not want child birth in this new world. The children were kept in the factory on different levels and sections depending on their age and class. They were taught everything they needed to know in this factory mostly while they were sleeping. Each class was like a Greek affiliation, similar to the ones on college campuses. Some examples of these names classes were, Betas, Deltas, etc.

Soma These people, of the new developed world, had no or very little negative feelings because the government provided them with Soma, a type of medicine. Their society was taught that Medicine was the answer to everything. If things got way too bad in a person’s life they would go on Soma holiday. Meaning they would take enough Soma to make them sleep for twelve hours.

No Love The government encouraged and insisted lust, not love. They believed every ONE person belonged to every OTHER person. The Savage who came from a reserve where they lived without high tech believes, loved Lenina but because she was not taught to love, she only lusted after the savage not knowing he would react in a repulsive way.

Book Reading is banned from The new world and all books have been removed. The Savage however is addicted to reading and doesn’t understand why reading is banned. He doesn’t like how the world is missing out on the wonderful world behind the cover of a book. Shakespeare is what he enjoys reading the most and he thinks others should be exhibited to books.

Whip This whip represents the violence john, called the savage, inflicts on himself to rid of the pain he feels in the new world he has discovered. More and more people begin to bother him when all he wants is solitude. In the end he hangs himself to forget once and for all about the horrors he has experienced since coming to this world.
