GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLAGE DAHOD DEPARTMENT:- MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SUB:- Manufacturing Process 2 Topic :- Shaping And Forming Of Glass Prepared by:- guided by:- 160180119055 K. K. Bhatt
3
Process Spinning Pressing Blowing Shaping Of Glass
4
1. Spinning Spinning of funnel- shaped glass parts such as cathode ray tubes for television and computer monitors. 1) Gob of glass dropped into mold. 2) Rotating mold to spread molten glass on mold
5
2. Pressing 1) Glass gob is fed into mold 2) Pressing into shape by plunger 3) Plunger is retracted and finished product is removed
6
3. Blowing Blowing process: Blown air expands a hollow gob of heated glass against the inner walls of a mold. A parting agent ( such as oil or emulsion) is usually used to prevent the glass from sticking to the mold.
7
Process Blow and Blow press and Blow
8
1. Blow and Blow (1) gob is fed into mold cavity;(2) mold is covered;(3) first blow step;(4) partially piece is repositioned in second blow mold, and (5) blown to final shape
9
2. Press and Blow (1) molten gob is fed into mold cavity; (2) pressing to form a parison;(3) parison is transferred to blow mold, and (4) blown to final shape
