2.  Launch the “Apple” menu and then select “Restart” to restart your iMac automatically.  Now, you need to press the “R” and “Command” keys instantaneously and hold them once the computer restarts. Here, then release the keys once the OS C utility window launches. In case the computer system does not get connected to the Internet automatically, choose your wireless network from the Wi-Fi option in order to establish a connection.  From the list of menu, select “Disk Utility” in order to launch the Disk Utility window and then click “Continue”. 3.  Select the hard drive that you wish to clear, in case you have only one hard drive, and then it will be the only one disk accessible. Here, you need to click the “Erase” tab.  Further, you need to click the “Format” pop-up list and then choose “Mac OS Extended”. Then you need to enter a name for the hard drive in the Name box and then click “Erase”. Here, the system removes the disk automatically.  Then you have to launch the “Disk Utility” option and select the “Quit Disk Utility” once the system shows the message that the disk has been erased and removed completely.

4.  At last, you are required to select the "Reinstall OS X" and then click "Continue."  Follow the onscreen instructions for the further preferences.
