INTRODUCTION  The Department of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) is the oldest department of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) with an annual intake of 60 students fully funded by the OIC.  Since the very beginning of IUT as Islamic Center for Technical and Vocational Training and Research (ICTVTR) in 1981,  The Department start Offering Master program in 1986 and has already celebrate it’s 30 years of commencement in 2016.

INTRODUCTION (CONT…)  At its inception, the department was known as Instructor Training and General Studies (ITS) and afterwards from the academic year 2010-11 it was renamed as Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) till date.  TVE department offers a diverse range of academic and professional development programs and training, which include Diploma, Bachelor Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Master Degree and PhD in the field of Technical Education.

CONCLUSION  TVE department organizes industrial/ institutional engagement programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences to give opportunities to students and pedagogy practitioners around the globe to be familiar with recent developments of knowledge and practices in teaching- learning, curriculum development, ICTs and pedagogical innovations.  In addition to the professional courses, it offers general courses in Languages, Islamiat, Islamic history, Science and Culture to all fresh entrants of the university.  The course curricula are under constant scrutiny and review and continuously updated to meet the current needs and requirements of the OIC member states as well as to comply with the international standard.
