This phrase should remind us of the O.T. temple Great care to its design Great wealth placed in its construction 1 Chr 29:1-5 People knew God dwelt there Our bodies are just as important because they are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit Dedication of Solomon’s temple 2 Chr 7:1-15 Today we have no such place

God desires to fellowship with His creation Ex 25:8; Jn 1:14; 1 Cor 1:9; Jn 14:23 Your body is the temple of God Be careful… where it goes – Prov 4:14; Ps 1:1 what it does – Col 3:17; 1 Cor 10:31 what it ponders – Prov 23:7; Zec 8:17; Col 3:2 how it reacts – Rom 12:17; 1 Pet 3:9; 1 Thes 5:15; Eph 4:26

The Bible clearly bears this out Jesus makes the promise – Jn 14:15-26 The epistles explain it – Rom 8:6-17; Gal 3:1-5 The Spirit is with you wherever you go & do His power is there when you need it Jgs 14:9; 1 Sam 10:6; Mic 3:8; Lk 4:14; Rom 15:13; Eph 3:16 With the Spirit indwelling you, every word, every thought & every action is in His view

8. Surrender your body to the Lord It has always belonged to Him Glorify God in your daily life Treat the temple of the Holy Spirit with the respect which it deserves
