1 Traditional life in Africa By: Daniel Tubi and Odel Nahamias

2 Family Ties: Family loyalty was a very important oath that helped society hold together They hunted as a group with a lot of families. They lived with their extended family which consisted of grandparents and uncles and aunts. The oldest male were the leaders of the tribe. Family ties:

3 The age grade system Began education at a very young age. Students went through different stages of life with boys boys and girls that were born in the same year. Together they took part of special ceremonies that marked the stages of their life

4 Patterns of Government The majority of people lived in small village she bigger ones. The smaller villages were often ruled by the Village leaders the village leaders often lead the daily lives of the people Decisions were met with a public decision Elders of village had a effect on final decision

5 Lives of women Women were respected because they had children Men would engage to more than one women which is called Polygamy. Women did the planting, the wedding, and the raising of the children. Women were the leaders of some communities Bride wealth was a gift expected by the groom's family to the bride.

6 Religion The four major african traditional religions were Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity. Also there were Minor tribe Religions. Religion is important to the African people was because their life revolved around it.

7 Traditions Africa traditions are shown through many different art forms, like dance art and music These traditions go deeply into the whole african culture

8 African food Before people started farming, African citizens ate mainly fruit (especially figs), with some meat, fish, seafood and eggs. They also harvested wild grain and nuts and got there fats from palm oil and nuts
