3. Laying the Foundation for Church History

4. (Pro 22:28) Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
(Pro 23:10) Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:

5. (Ecc 3:15) That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

6. It is the movement of God through history to accomplish his 3 fold plan for the earth and universe, the Nation of Israel, and for your Life.
It is also the movement of Satan to counter, counterfeit, and confound the 3 fold plan of God

7. The King of Eden

8. I. The original PLAN for Lucifer

9. (Eze 28:12-15) Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

10. II. The original PROBLEM of Lucifer

11. (Isa 14:12-15) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

14. IV. The PLACEMENT of the fall of Lucifer

15. This must have taken Place before Adam and Gen. 3
It must have happened after Gen. 1:1

16. (Rom 1:20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

17. (Gen 1:2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

18. (Isa 45:18) For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

19. (Job 38:4-7) Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth
(Job 38:4-7) Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? (2Pe 3:5-7) For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

21. (2Pe 3:10-13) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

24. (Jer 4:23-26) I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

25. V. The Propose of Lucifer (Satan) to come into the Garden again

26. A. Why is he coming back in?

27. Satan is coming back to reclaim his property.
Satan is coming to counter the plan of God for Adam.
Satan is coming to counter the plan of God for the Earth.

28. B. What is the Strategy he is using?

29. 1st He tries to get her to question God’s Word
(Gen 3:1) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

30. 2nd He changes God’s Word
(Gen 3:4) And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
(Gen 2:17) But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

31. 3rd He reinterpreted God’s Word
(Gen 3:5) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

32. HIS APPROACH WAS RELIGION! He even uses God’s credentials

33. C. What is the results of this strategy ?

34. 1. ADAM HANDS OVER THE CROWN
(Gen 3:6) And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

35. 2. Satan takes the Dominion Away
(Eph 2:2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

36. (2Co 4:4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
(Joh 12:31) Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

37. (Mat 4:8-9) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
(Eph 6:12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

38. D. How does this apply to Us and Church History?

39. (2Co 2:11) Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

40. 1st He tries to get her to question God’s Word
2nd He changes God’s Word
3rd He reinterpreted God’s Word
HIS APPROACH WAS RELIGION!

So while tracing Church History we must be looking for Men, Movements and Institutions that are
to bring doubt, to change, and to reinterpret the Word of God

42. VI. The Practice of Lucifer (Satan) to counter God’s plan

43. TRACING THE STRATEGY OF SATAN IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

44. (Deu 13:1-3) If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

48. ROMANS
(Rom 16:17-18) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

49. CORINTH
(2Co 2:17) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
(2Co 4:2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

50. CORINTH
(2Co 11:3-4) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
