7. Dual Degree Program Requirements
GPA
Maintain CGPA above 3.2 and graduate program GPA above 3.0
Falling below GPA minimums will result in removal from program
Note: Grades of repeated grad courses are averaged into the graduate GPA, not replaced like is done in undergrad courses.
Graduate Status
Years 1-5 (less than 129 SCH)  undergraduate students
Year 6 (more than 129 SCH)  graduate students
Year 6 students are eligible for graduate student benefits such as fellowships, graduate loan programs, full time equivalency, etc.
Completion Time
Must be certifiable for BS degree by end of spring semester year 5.
Complete BOTH degrees by end of Year 6 spring semester (summer semester under extenuating circumstances).

To transition from ME to MS, you must:
Find a faculty advisor willing to work with you on a thesis
Develop a thesis proposal with this advisor
Have your proposal approved by a faculty committee
Take GRE before thesis defense

11. Dual Degree Admissions Requirements
Have completed 2nd year courses
Minimum CGPA of 3.4 (3.0 for STPP)
To apply online, you will need to:
Meet GPA requirements
Provide a personal statement
Provide names of two ME faculty who have agreed to write a recommendation letter for you (one should be your faculty advisor)
Direct references to submit their recommendations online

12. Dual Degree Admissions Timeline
Fall & Spring ME Dept holds dual degree program information sessions
Fall & Spring ME Dept invites dual degree applications via with links
Mar 30, Online applications and reference letters are due
Summer Application reviews begin after spring semester grades are posted
Summer Application reviews are concluded decisions are made
Next Fall Accepted students begin planning / taking graduate coursework
Possible Outcomes:
ACCEPTED: Students are offered admission to the BS/ME or BS/MSSTPP program effective upcoming Fall Semester (DDS can later transition to BS/MS).
DECLINED: Students are declined admission to the dual degree program. Students may be asked to apply again next year after completing additional courses, and/or increasing their GPA.
