Its name comes from the French language and it was made popular by the French in Aragón in the 19th century. Guirlache is a sort of nougat,very similar to Provençal nougat,a sweet made of almonds or walnuts and honey.

The sweet can be considered as one of the most delicious and best known sweets in Aragón.
It’s made of natural products, such as: wheal flour, butter, salt, yeast, yolk, dried fruit…

THE RING-SHAPED CAKE

It’s a typical Aragonese cake, it is a sweet calce with a ring shape decorated with sweet fruit slices on top with colourful decoration. It’s usually eaten on January 6th. This cake, called “roscón” in Spanish, hide a little surprise, usually a porcelain or plastic figure.
