2 Why use the Internet (a) it provides authentic language materials; (b) it enhances the student's level of literacy in conducting on-line communication; (c) it enables the student to interact with native and non-native speakers; (d) it makes the learning process lively, dynamic, and interesting; (e) it gives both the student and the teacher the power to work efficiently (Li, 2005).

4 Internet for SS: advantages a large variety of authentic information resources: on-line encyclopaedias, dictionaries, glossaries, maps, e-books, tests, videos, songs (lyrics), audio-material, live radio (BBC4), forums, blogs communication (email, Skype, MSN, Facebook, iwiw – letters and live chat) – an endless source of cooperative/project work
