1. SCARLET LETTER PROJECT 1

2. OBJECTIVE To understand how labels are assigned throughout society

3. MATERIALS You will need paper and pen (or pencil) to design your letter. You will be responsible for the actual construction and material of the final product

4. PROCESS Today you will take a piece of paper and design a Scarlet Letter. Please choose a positive adjective like A for Able. Write a 5 paragraph essay about why that specific adjective applies to you.

5. GRADING Letter A= An aesthetically pleasing letter that can be pinned to your clothes. B= A letter that can be pinned to your clothes. C= You create a letter.

6. GRADING Writing A= A 5 paragraph narrative essay with a clear introduction, body(3 supporting paragraphs) and conclusion with little to no grammar mistakes. 7. DUE DATE This will be due Monday the 7 th at the beginning of class. I would like for you to come to class wearing your letter.
