Internationalization of Taiwanese Students Short-term strategies: Increase number of students who study abroad Increase English-requirements Hire more English-speaking professors and introduce more English- taught courses Establish connections between alumni and current students Encourage students to take social science and business courses Make use of the membership in various university organizations Long-term strategies: Introduce a compulsory “study abroad” exchange component Create a new “International Design” program

Short-term strategies: Attract overseas Chinese and increase the quota admitted each year Make the DT&C website more informative Advocate to change certain university policies towards international students Long-term strategies: Create a completely English-taught program Take advantage of the university’s affiliation with the Chinese language Centre Be prepared to capitalize on China’s untapped market
