2. What is the Ida C. Koran Trust?
Ida Koran was hired by MJ Osborn in 1923 as Ecolab’s first female associate. She worked for Ecolab for 44 years.
Created trust in 1967 with estimated $5 million in stock savings
Non-Profit Foundation 501(c)3 designed to provide financial support to Ecolab employees around the globe
All programs are built around employee financial need
Asset level has grown over 45 years with a current balance of over $44 million
Annual distribution requirement is 5% of the Trust’s previous years value
The Ida Koran Trust is guided by Ida’s legal will document and US laws.
Every 5 years, the Trust goes under a legal audit and presents our program information to the Minnesota courts to ensure we are upholding US laws and Ida’s intent to help Ecolab employees. 2
